Remembering Director Jerry Rivers
Montgomery County mourns the loss of Veterans Service Organization Director Jerry Rivers, who died at age 60 on Thursday, March 21, 2013, of complications from a stroke. He was a tireless advocate for veterans, both inside and outside of the Veterans Service office.
Jerry was retired from the Army, having served in both Vietnam and the Gulf War. He was instrumental in bringing to the city a $22.6 million Montgomery County Veterans Nursing Home, which is set to be built behind Walmart on Fort Campbell Boulevard.
He will be missed by all who knew him.
Our Mission
Our county veteran service officers and staff are dedicated to providing the highest quality of service, support and counseling for all veterans. We will provide referral service to other state and federal agencies for veterans, surviving spouses and their dependents to ensure quicker access to the benefits to which they are entitled.
