Road Hazards and Animal Removal

Road Hazard Reporting

The public is encouraged to report any unsafe conditions observed on the County Highways. Downed trees, damaged pavement, bridges, guard rails, road obstructions, debris, missing signs, etc., should be reported as soon as possible.

Road hazards on County Maintained Highways may be reported to the Montgomery County Highway Department during normal business hours, 6:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday. Hazards may be reported after hours by calling 911 and notifying the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office. The Montgomery County Highway Department maintains on-call personnel to fix these problems and return the highway to a safe condition as soon as possible.

Animal Removal

The Montgomery County Highway Department provides large animal removal, with the exception of livestock, from County Highway right-of-ways. Please call our office at (931) 648-5740 from 6:30 a.m. - 5 p.m., Monday through Thursday. If the animal remains present a road hazard please call 911 in order to have the location reported to the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office.
