Responsible for investigating all crimes committed by and against juveniles, including but not limited to vandalism, theft, assault, mischievousness, truancy, unruliness, runaways, underage drinking/smoking. Assists parents and caregivers in seeking petitions to court for any unruly, delinquent or truant child. Duties and responsibilities include investigating criminal cases, processing crime scenes, preparing case files for prosecution, testifying in legal proceedings and other related investigative duties. The investigator assists in underage compliance checks and at times saturation and checkpoints.

The Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force was created to help State and local law enforcement agencies enhance their investigative response to offenders who use the Internet, online communication systems, or other computer technology to sexually exploit children. The program is currently comprised of 46 regional Task Force Agencies and is funded by the United States Department of Justice, Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention.
The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office works in conjunction with the Knoxville Police Department’s ICAC Task Force, as well as other local, State, and Federal law enforcement agencies to identify, arrest, and convict those who use technology to exploit our community's children.
